Frequently Asked Questions

The 2020 OSU Summer Music Camp has been canceled due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Please see the link below for more information.

Q: Is there adult supervision for students in the dorm?

A: The OSU Music Camp will employ dorm RAs. The RAs are responsible music students who are familiar with dorm policies and the Woodwind Institute faculty. The institute will not exceed the recommended ratio of RAs to students (1:15). Students are expected to adhere to all OSU dorm policies and act in a mature, respectful manner. A copy of dorm rules and regulations will be distributed along with medical forms following the receipt of your registration form.

Q: Do I have to stay in the dorm?

A: Students may stay in area hotels if they desire. However, OSU will not be liable and/or responsible for students staying off campus. Students who live in Stillwater or nearby may choose to not stay in the dorm and commute to campus each day.

Q: Can I pick my roommate?

A: We will make every effort to accommodate roommate requests, but cannot offer any guarantees.

Q: Where can I find a detailed schedule?

A: The finalized detailed schedule will be emailed to all camp applicants at the beginning of June. All students will receive their individual schedules upon registration on June 28, 2020.

Q: When are placement auditions?

A: Auditions will take place on Sunday, June 28 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Q: What is the audition material?

A: Woodwind, brass, and string placement auditions will include scales, a solo piece of your choice (demonstrating contrasting styles), and sight-reading. Percussion audition information can be found here.
