Camp Placement Audition
Camp acceptance is based on the completion of registration materials. Students do not need to audition in order to be accepted to camp. Once students arrive at camp, they will play a short placement audition for Camp Faculty. This will help determine ensemble seating and chamber music assignments. Students will sign-up for their audition time at registration during the first day of camp.

Placement Audition Repertoire
Woodwind, Brass, and String Instruments
A solo piece of your choice

Piano auditions will include a memorized solo work of your choice from one of the Baroque, Classical, Romantic or Twentieth Century style periods. Pianists will also be given a short sight reading excerpt.

It is expected that OSU Summer Music Camp piano students will have taken piano lessons for at least 3 years, and/or be capable, at minimum, of playing pieces at the level of the J.S. Bach 2-part Inventions, the Clementi Sonatinas, or other classical solo works of a similar difficulty level. Exceptions to these general prerequisites may be made on a case by case basis.

If you have any questions about the piano requirements, you may contact Dr. Thomas Lanners directly at
